Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. I hope that each of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer. We are extremely excited about the upcoming year and the continued partnership between our dedicated staff and wonderful families. Hawthorne School supports education in a nurturing environment where ongoing learning and continued assessment of our work ensures we grow to meet the needs of a changing society.

 

Hawthorne's faculty is personally committed to meeting the learning needs of all students through programs which reflect academic rigor across every discipline. Our goal is to create lifelong learners who use their knowledge, individual strengths and talents to fulfill their personal mission. Our journey to success has no final stop.

 

Parents are encouraged to participate at Hawthorne to work in partnership with us as we grow our learning community. The Hawthorne PTA is indeed a key component in our school community and supports us by raising money which enables us to augment our curriculum with enriching programs and activities that benefit our students. Throughout the year, I encourage families to contact us whenever there is a question, request or concern about our school.

 

It has been my privilege to have served in the Beverly Hills Unified School District for the past 32 years both as teacher and administrator. Over these past three decades, the world around us has changed; however, what has remained constant in our district is the commitment to provide all students an outstanding education. It is an honor to join the ranks of Hawthorne School.
